Portland Trail Blazers guard Brandon Roy is planning to announce his retirement due to degenerative knees, perhaps as soon as Friday, sources with knowledge of Roy's decision have told ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard and ESPN.com's Chad Ford.Hate to see Roy retire at the young age of 27. He was one of my favorite players in the NBA and even before while playing at the University of Washington. I don't think this will be the end from Roy. I see him taking a year off to get his body together and pulling a Grant Hill.
