The Roots Perform at The 2012 NHL Winter Classic

Seems like the NHL may be trying to tap into the urban market and get more people in the hip-hop culture interested in the sports. Yesterday, the NHL held their 5th annual Winter Classic game at Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park between the New York Rangers beat the Philadelphia Flyers. To show some love, the NHL invited Philadelphia's own The Roots to perform their hit, "The Fire," on the rink. As far as the match goes, the New York Rangers beat the Philadelphia Flyers 3-2.
