Carmelo Anthony Feels He Was Labeled "Selfish" During Linsanity

Many have called Knicks forwards Carmelo Anthony a selfish player. Since coming to New York, he's had issues playing with Amar'e Stoudemire, blamed for the firing of former coach Mike D'Antoni, couldn't play with former Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin, and has been criticized for not being a team player. In a recent interview with USA Today, Carmelo talks about being blamed for everything that goes wrong with the Knicks and how it all started with the emergence of Jeremy Lin's success.
"Let's be frank about it," Melo says. "When it comes to the Knicks, we're talking about one particular point in time. We're talking about the whole 'Linsanity' thing. That's when it started. That's when it started to escalate as far as people saying I was selfish."

Carmelo continues:
"Lin came and we started winning games and then we started losing games, and they could only point to one thing, which is me, the leader of the team," Anthony said. "They're not going to point to Amar'e. They're not going to point to Iman Shumpert. They're going to point to me. I accept that. It doesn't bother me."

Personally, I've always felt Carmelo was a selfish player, even during his days with the Denver Nuggets. Seems like a good guy off the court but on the court, his game is selfish. Knicks will not win until he learns how to play with Amar'e and stop jacking up shots.
